James F. Ferrare is a Wealth Advisor and Principal at Withum Wealth Management. He has over 30 years of finance experience and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations. Jim is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) and the CFA Institute. For the past three years, he was named on Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor list. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Buffalo University and has a comprehensive background in lifestyle planning, wealth counsel, and tax-sensitive portfolio management. As an Investment Advisor, Jim helps clients understand and manage investments as they enter new stages of life, such as a business transition, retirement planning, divorce, death of spouse, and inheritance. He was inducted into the Research Magazine’s Investment Advisor Hall of Fame in December of 2013.

In addition to his position at Withum Wealth Management, Jim is an Executive Vice President and Board Member at Pinnacle Associates Ltd., a Withum Wealth co-founder. Before joining Pinnacle Jim was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Manchester Capital Corporation, a registered investment advisor (RIA). He was also a General Partner at Davidson, Weil Associates, an investment partnership specializing in asset allocation for affluent individuals and institutions. He earned his required CPA accounting experience at Oppenheim, Appel, Dixon & Co., a certified public accounting firm specializing in the securities industry. Jim currently serves on a JP Morgan advisory council helping their organization provide timely and relevant value to registered investment advisory community. Most recently, NJBIZ named Jim to the ICON Award list for 2021, honoring New Jersey business leaders over the age of 60.

Jim is also actively involved in the community. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, 180 Turning Lives Around Inc., and Springpoint Senior Living where he serves as investment chair. In past years Jim was also a member of the American Cancer Society’s Monmouth County Chapter and the New Jersey Chapter of Covenant House. When he lived in New York, he dedicated time to educating tomorrow’s business leaders. He served as an adjunct professor teaching accounting and investing related classes at the College of Insurance. He also taught CFA candidates participating in the New York State Society of Securities Analysts curriculum.

Jim currently resides in Monmouth County, NJ. He has two sons and a daughter. His older son is a PHD student at Stanford University and is younger son recently passed his CPA exam and is working for an accounting and consulting firm in Northern Virginia. Jim’s daughter is a practicing attorney in Houston, Texas specializing in the healthcare industry. Jim and his children have shared a lifetime appreciation for the outdoors. Together, they have summited several mountain peaks ranging from the Presidential Mountains in New Hampshire to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
