Henry Mercer is Chief Investment Officer at Withum Wealth Management and brings over 45 years of investment management experience to the firm. He founded Mercer Capital Advisers, Inc. in 1999 and served as its President until his brief retirement in 2022. Throughout his career, Henry’s insights have been featured in publications such as Barron’s, Investor’s Business Daily, The New York Times, Forbes, and Fortune.

Henry began his investment career in 1979 at Tucker, Anthony & R.L. Day. He later became President and founding partner of Mercer, Bokert, Buckman & Reid, Inc., managing the firm’s registered investment advisory division. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Henry has remained deeply engaged in education and the arts, serving on Monmouth University’s Board of Trustees – including a term as Chairman – and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.

Henry earned his undergraduate degree from Monmouth University, where he received the History Department’s award for academic excellence and was later awarded an honorary doctorate for his service. He is also an accomplished sailor, distance runner, and former cross-country coach at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. Henry resides in Monmouth County with his wife Joan and their Corgi, and enjoys time with their two children and four grandchildren.
